Mi Sueño
(La Calle Records)

MAR 2007 : The humble Cuban singer residing in Miami and the winner of the Spanish
American Idol-like reality TV show
Objetivo Fama (Season 3) has just released his debut CD. The 14-track album,
Mi Sueño, is definitely a
sueño (dream)turned into reality. On this tropical delight, Marlon penetrates his strong and fluctuating voice well into the traditional styles of salsa music and treats us to a beautiful
guanguancó as the first track—sadly too short—which leaks into the second track, “Usted Abusó.” On this track, Marlon delivers his emerging sound in unison with his favorite Latin female singer, Puerto Rico’s own India, who offers her signature voice on an alternate pop version of the same song. This new artist can swing from one genre to the other with ease, as does the album.
Mi Sueño is evidence enough of his hard work on
Objetivo Fama and of the musical coaching and guidance he received on the show.
